Wild Search are pleased to be advising Suffolk Libraries on the appointment of a new Chief Executive.
Suffolk Libraries is a not for profit, independent and charitable organization established in 2012. It is contracted by Suffolk County Council to run 44 libraries, 3 mobile libraries and library services in prisons throughout the county.
The new Chief Executive will build on the achievements to date to ensure Suffolk Libraries is well placed to win a potential competitive re-commissioning process when the current contract with Suffolk County Council comes to an end in 2022. Other key requirements will be to:
• Ensure that there is strong membership ethos throughout the organisation
• Direct and motivate paid staff and volunteers
• Support and contribute to good governance through the Suffolk Libraries Board, helping them to shape the overall strategic direction and tone of the organisation
• Develop a high profile for Suffolk Libraries with the general public, customers, volunteers, funders, stakeholders, government and advisory bodies (including the Arts Council).
The ideal candidate will be commercially creative; a strong communicator; have experience in managing teams and working with volunteers across a wide geography; and have an evident commitment to the success of Suffolk Libraries and a willingness to lead and develop its services.
